Sewer | Glendale, WI 53209

Position Summary: Sew various components using a sewing machine.

Essential Functions:

  • Works from verbal and written instructions.

  • Performs sewing of components and/or sub-assemblies.

  • Assemble two or more fabric piece parts by sewing seams following sample, verbal or written instructions.

  • Work with various types of materials such as fabric, vinyl, leather, canvas and plastics.

  • Replace needles, bobbins and thread. Thread needles and adjust thread and spool tensions as required.

  • Visually inspect materials and work performed before and after sewing for defects, i.e. loose stitching, proper seam allowance and seam alignment, to ensure adherence to established quality standards.

  • Stamp employee identification number on each piece produced.

  • Notify Supervisor or Group Leader of problems for disposition or remedy.

  • Performs daily maintenance duties on sewing machines, i.e. oiling and lint removal, and 

  • Looks for ways to improve sewing processes.

  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to safely perform functions of Sewer.

  • Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, a minimum of 40 hours per week with two 10 min. breaks and 1/2 hour lunch.

  • Ability to move minimum of 20lbs., unassisted, above waist.

  • Ability to bend, twist, turn and stoop.

Education and/or required experience:

  • 8th Grade skill level or equivalent.

  • Basic Communication Skills.

Assembler | Glendale, WI 53209

Position Summary: Upholsters items a required to complete an assembly with various types of covering materials.


Essential Functions:

  • Works from verbal and written instructions.

  • Develops as required customized panels to ensure a proper fit.

  • May cut and make customized patterns to conform to specific customer specifications and/or shape.

  • May troubleshoot issues and solve work problems.

  • May use presses, fixtures and various hand, power and air tools to produce a good quality upholstered product.

  • Visually inspect materials and work performed before and after for defects ensuring a clean and aesthetic pleasing finished product.

  • Notify Supervisor or Group Leader of problems for analysis and remedy.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.

​

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to safely perform functions of Upholsterer.

  • Ability to design, cut and make customized patterns.

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, a minimum of 40 hours per week with two 10 min. breaks and 1/2 hour lunch.

  • Ability to bend, twist, turn and stoop.

Education and/or required experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

  • Basic communication skills.
